Cuppa Team Game.
We decided we wanted to make a better menu system for the game instead of a single static image. We played the assets (made by Joe) into the unity scene and started to move them about into place. we then started to add lighting and textures to the objects so that it would look after cleaner and nicer. most things in the scene move, the asteroids and planet rotate at different speeds. the ships and space stations also slowly rotate but move in a direction as well. We put the camera in-front of the first canvas created which when played shows you a screen with the writing 'click here'. once this is activated the camera moves in-front of a different camera and has the buttons, 'Tutorial', 'Play' and 'Quit'. Pressing tutorial takes you to the short tutorial created by us. clicking the play button will take you to the level we have created and pressing the quit button will exit the game.
The ships shown here are ones that have been animated to fly past, giving the home screen a more atmospheric feel.
This is a screenshot of the tutorial scene. in this one theirs a simple animation that shows you how to control your ship and fire its weaponry. The green frame you can see is a large cube and once this cude makes contact with the player ship it takes you to the completion screen where you can play the tutorial again or quit to the main menu.
These are a screenshot of the level scene. We thought it would be cool if you were flying over an object/ship, so we decided on using the station and adding red textures to it. we also had it moving slowly down so it gives you the feel of moving/flying above it. we also added a number of ship animations in the background.
At the start of the scene you are with two other ships. two portraits come out from the side of the screen and have a small amount of dialog. once this is over the alien ships start to spawn and the fight begins!
