Battle Arena: Skull.
I wanted to add skulls around the battle arena to show that many people have died there. It also gave me the idea of having a good and evil side, light and dark.
I started by getting an image as reference from google of a skull. I then started out by creating a cube and smoothing it so it turns into more of a ball like shape. from that I modeled the skull, again I tryed to keep the Tri count low.
I added some lighting in Maya as to see how the skulls might look when added to the scene.
I liked the idea of the evil side having crystal skulls as there main theme so I decided to make a new material and turn it into a transparent object. This made it look like crystal as it was slightly see through. I still thought it needed more to it so I decided to add a light source that radiates from the skull.
