Steam-punk Character.

Steam-punk Character Design.

I had to create a steam-punk character, either that be a robot, gun, vehicle or character. I chose to design and create a character in the end as that's something I feel I'm still weak on.

I Created a mood-board to help me with designing my character.

Using the mood-board I then did a few sketches until I was happy with that i wanted to create.

Finished drawing done on Photoshop of my character design.

I was really happy with this design and drawing. I'm not to happy with the face as I feel its a bit to large. I would like to do a few different drawings that could go along with this one. maybe a few steampunk robots that she controls?

Ship designs.

Ship designs

I was given the task of forming a team and to create a 2D game with them of are own choosing. we decided to create a spaceship game. We decided the game will be played from a top down point of view and also the game will be in 2.5D. 2.5D is similar to 2D but instead of using 2D images it uses 3D models. this will give the game a lot more depth and allows us to do more with lighting. My first role was to draw and design the spaceship/aircraft that the player will be controlling.

We decided that I would take the role of the concept artist for the protagonist ship (the ship the player would control) so i started out by gathering images of space ships and made them into a mood-board. We also talked about spaceship games we liked and made a mood-board from them to help us in the future.

I then did a top down design sheet of a few designs i had in my head so that everyone could see what i was thinking for the ship. When doing this I kept in mind the silhouette.

Spaceship.

Spaceship

I was given this 3D model in photoshop to add a texture over it and warp it around the model.

before.

After.

Vampire!

Vampire

using found images online I added them to this vampire in Photoshop. Putting them ona different player and then changing the opacity to make it look almost skin and flesh like.

Si-fi Room

Si-fi room

I was given the task of creating a si-fi room in two point perspective.

I did this using Photoshop. I found this task very hard as I couldn't seem to the the perspective right for a very long time.

If I was to do this task I would like to add a lot more into the room itself. maybe make it into a control room so placing chairs and tables with flashing lights and computer monitors.

Tank. Lighting and shades

Tank, Lighting and shades.

i was given the task of creating a 3D object and then creating cast showers.

I started out by creating a mood-board of tanks from world war 2.

I then did a few sketches before starting the Photoshop drawing.

In my lesson for this task I looked into how lighting its a cube. I looked at the different values.

I choose to do a very simplified version of a tank as I found this task rather hard.

Frog Design

Frog design

I was given the task of creating a character for a game based around frogs. The image below is the design I came up with. I went for a cartoon style with bold colours that would appeal more to a younger audience.

After creating a mood-board I did a few sketches.

The background (scroll/parchment) was coursed from google images.
