In this session I was looking at how light hit the body and shaded using chalk . (two different models)

I have put two sessions together here because I didn't have many drawings I liked from these. The first three i had to look at perspective, I used the paper that was placed on the floor as guide lines. The last to images I was looking at the bone structure of the human body.

Life drawing session. We started out by doing a few 3 minute sketches and then we had some longer ones. The last image in this collection was first started by me and then others in my class went over the top of it, drawing what they saw.

I was given the image below in lesson and told to to change it so its a landscape image. i only had until the lesson was finished to do this so I didn't paint over the house/ cactus. i made the house smaller as i placed it further away in the image. I also changed the levels to give it the effect of looking further away. Then I changed the contrast of the cactus so it was more eye catching as its in the foreground. I speed painted the rest of the background and foreground by hand to try and match the flow of the image.

I was given the task of creating a insect creature. I started by gathering images from google and making a mood-board with them. From those images I then sketched some key parts of the insects. Then from those sketches I created three conceptual insect character designs. I picked my favorite one and created a blue print model sheet in Photoshop. After this I then painted the final design using Photoshop.

This insect can grow up to one foot in length. It uses its wings to draw in its pray as they have a hypnotizing affect. once its pray is close it fly's down and stings it using its large stinger. the stinger has a poison that courses the victim to be paralyzed. then a large, long and thin needle like peek protrudes from between its pincers on its face which it uses to drain the victim of there blood. It also has two scythe like arms that it uses to defend itself against larger pray.

Im happy with this drawing but I feel its a but to dark. to fix this I would use the dodge tool on the face. this will draw the viewers eyes to the face. I would also slightly lover the opacity on the wings so there not so vibrant.

I was given the task of drawing the human body with the muscle structure.

I started with a sketch with pen and pencil of the human neck. i then moved on and did a full body with colour. I did this using Photoshop.

The image blow is the full front on view of the human body (muscles showing). I spent a lot of time trying to get each muscle into the drawing. Once i had done that i then labeled time muscles using the link shown above.

I then tryed to do a more quick style of colouring for the side on view.

I then another style for the back. this one i didnt blend any of the brush strokes but instead I showed them clearly.

I found this very hard to start out with but as i started to play around with different styles and ways to colour it I found it a lot more easyer and I got a lot of enjoyment out of drawing these.

Steam-punk Character.

Steam-punk Character Design.

I had to create a steam-punk character, either that be a robot, gun, vehicle or character. I chose to design and create a character in the end as that's something I feel I'm still weak on.

I Created a mood-board to help me with designing my character.

Using the mood-board I then did a few sketches until I was happy with that i wanted to create.

Finished drawing done on Photoshop of my character design.

I was really happy with this design and drawing. I'm not to happy with the face as I feel its a bit to large. I would like to do a few different drawings that could go along with this one. maybe a few steampunk robots that she controls?
