I was given a silhouette of a mech and told to fill it in using the 4 colours given to me and an image as a reference point.

Tentacle Monster.

Tentacle Monster

For this homework assignment I was told to create a tentacle monster. He didnt want a cute monster but one more on the horror side. I started out by making a moodboard of images found on google.

After i made the mood-board i started to do a few drawings in my sketch book.

Once i was happy with the design i wanted I started to draw it in photoshop. 

I was rather happy with how this turned out as at this point I wasnt very good at colouring in photoshop. I feel I got the horror aspect rather well as it looks very creepy. I think i did the shading well but if I did it again or went back to this design I would add lighter areas where the light is hitting. I would use the dodge tool to do this.

We had to create are own lava monsters for next weeks session.

i started by gathering a few images into a mood-board (shown below).

Ater finding some images i then started to sketch out some ideas of my own.

After I draw three different designs I then picked my favorite one and opened it into Photoshop.  In the end I wasn't happy with the head so I changed it for the head of the Second design I did.

I then filled all thr rocks in with color. 

I thought it was abit to bright so I changed the levels a little. then started to add lava to the creature.

Life Drawing.

Life Drawing

At the start of this session we had to draw the model while he walked around in circle. This turned out to me very hard. I found it hard to get the movement right along with the proportion.

We were told to try out different medias so i tryed a red felt tip pen. i really enjoyed drawing with the pen instead of using chalk.

On this one I used pencil. I was much happier using pencil as I feel I have much more control over the drawing. The angle I had to draw the model was rather hard but I'm very happy with how it turned out. I feel I got the proportions right in this drawing.

Pixel Art.

In my visual design workshop I was given the task of creating a robot using the method used to  create pixel art. I found this task a lot harder than I thought I would. Looking at pixel art it seems very simple but to get something to look right and in place can be rather challenging.
